Gimp has one here on x86_64. Do you have a /usr/share/applications/gimp.desktop?

Yes, there is the file, but I am using Gnome and the application doesnt appear in Graphics menu nor Alacarte.

It appears in my gnome menu and also shows up in alacarte.

I found out the problem. There were lots of garbage applications entries in ~/.local/share/applications/. I've been delete all contents in this directory and the gimp lanch on menu is back. =D
