DetailsThe latest nvidia driver (177.80) drops support for various FX GPUs; From Nvidia 177.80 driver release notes:
"GeForce FX GPUs are supported through the 173.14.xx NVIDIA legacy graphics drivers." Currently none of the nvidia driver packages that are available from the repos work with the GPU in my laptop (GeForce FX Go5200), for example. My guess is that, unfortunately, an additional set of "legacy" packages with 173.14.xx series of drivers will be needed... Additional info: nvidia 177.80-1 nvidia-utils 177.80-1 Steps to reproduce: Install 177.80 drivers on a system with an affected FX GPU and start X session. |
