Description:
I just wanted to let ya know that ya should build slim with pam support, otherwise ya can't use jack-audio-connection-kit and such.

Anyhows I made a new PKGBUILD, had to make a patch for it to build (just had to #include <cstdlib> in cfg.cpp), and to build with pam support I done <make USE_PAM=1>, and finally I made a slim.pam file with "session required pam_limits.so" that installs to "/etc/pam.d/slim".

I haven't put this on the AUR yet, there already seems to be a slim-pam on there that is orphaned. But yea, I didn't use this and actually just downloaded and modified the official PKGBUILD and such from http://repos.archlinux.org/viewvc.cgi/slim/repos/extra-x86_64/.

Additional info:
* package version(s)
* config and/or log files etc.
extra/slim 1.3.0-2
extra/jack-audio-connection-kit 0.109.2-2

As I've already resolved the issue I don't have a complete log, but it was something like "cannot use real-time scheduling (FIFO at priority 10)", and continued on failing to start.

Steps to reproduce:
Install default slim 1.3.0-2 and jack-audio-connection-kit 0.109.2-2 packages, login with slim and then try <jackd -R -d alsa>.

I'd like to second the slim with PAM support request. For any non-passwd based login, it is required.

PAM support would be really nice. otherwise you can't use fingerprint sensors with slim.

This is becoming particularly important now as policykit/consolekit requires PAM authentication. The slim-pam package from the AUR works fine although by default I would not include the gnome-keyring lines in the /etc/pam.d/slim file.
