DetailsAfter updating X freezes the whole system and all I could get out of the logs, was:
undefined symbol: radeon_allocate_memory I tried to recompile the package myself, but the latest PKGBUILD wouldn't work. First I had to add dri2proto to makedepends (assuming it's not a new dependency?) and the git-20080827.patch wouldn't apply cleanly. Also line 32 of the PKGBUILD looks kind of wierd with the quotation mark _before_ DESTDIR. I did however compile the package regardless of the errors the patch gave me, but still X froze with the same error. I'm using an ATI Mobility Radeon 7000 (aka M6) |

git-20080827.patch applies clean and there's no problem with the quotes I added. The reason why this driver doesn't work is because the patch touches a Makefile.am file which doesn't get regenerated. Please try 6.9.0-3 which is in x86_64 and svn trunk at this moment (I don't have an i686 build yet).
