hplip needs foomatic-rip-hplip-install enabled for some printers to work. Also, there are some ppd files in the mainline source tree that do not make it into the package. I discovered both of these trying to get a Deskjet D2545 working. I had to manually install hp-deskjet_d2500_series-hpijs.ppd as well as rebuild the package. |
