DetailsI'm submitting this bug for a friend, who contacted me via IRC (irssi) after reinstalling Arch. Apparently, the package in question (xorg-fonts-misc-1.0.0-3 x86_64) is corrupt on a number of mirrors, including main, and has crippled Xorg.

Additional comments about closing: the package has not changed for a long time. My guess your problem was caused by a problem with your internet connection, which can corrupt packages.

I'm the friend, and I just got the package uncorrupted from the main ftp site. I'm not sure if someone reuploaded the package or it just decided to work for the 101th time, but everything's good now :)
