I noticed that git-* binaries are no longer in PATH; I'm not sure when they were moved to /usr/lib/git-core but they should be moved back.

Several tools use the git-* binaries as opposed to "git *"; for one: gibak. And does it really harm anyone just having them in /usr/bin?

Reason for closing:  Won't fix
Additional comments about closing:  Complain to the gibak project or upstream, not here. We package what we get, and these versions of the commands have been deprecated for at *least* a year.

File a bug with the gibak project. This wasa developer decision.

I'm fairly certain this is an upstream decision, so I'm assigning to Dan so he can close, unless there is a big issue here

Using git-* commands is now deprecated. Check out this post on LKML http://lkml.org/lkml/2008/8/17/174
