DetailsThe current link/page name its not descriptive enough, and even maybe confusing or misleading.
Lots of people I know, wouldn't have known of the Spanish community if this had depended on the Arch website page. Its been a long time since the international communities where just "forums", and calling them "non-English" doesn't help either. This bug-report is actually a way to make a formal request, we talked about this on the forums about two years ago: http://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=27039 This bug addresses a couple of the points named there, and most of the thread participants agreed that this should be changed, one way or the other. To clarify, what I'm asking is: 1) To change the link/page name from "non-English forums" to "International Communities" (or something alike) 2) The page should use the native language for each community, with the English version between brackets, eg.: EspaƱol (Spanish) <http://www.archlinux-es.org> And so on... 3) It should link to the home page, not only the forums (this is why we drop the "forums" from the link/page) 4) It should be clear that these are NON-official communities. There is no disclaimer saying this, and the only legend you see is that the main forums are located at bbs.archlinux.org There are plenty of areas were we can start to improve things so that Arch can grow faster in non-english speaking countries. I hope that with this bug report we can start talking about doing something about Arch Linux internationalization (in all the aspects: website, documentation, distribution, etc.) state. |

Reason for closing: Fixed
Additional comments about closing: I've made changes 1, 3, and 4. Change #2 is a "patches welcome" wontfix; If somebody sends me a unicode list of the various languages in their native language, I will change the names; please file a second bug report in this case.

requests 1, 3, and 4 are relatively easy fixes that I will be rolling out in the next day or two, but I don't have time to research request #2. If you or someone can send me a list of the current international communities in their native language, I can try to update the list.
