Summary and Info:

When PKGDEST is set in makepkg.conf, makepkg should create a symlink to the built package in $startdir. This is so devtools will work even though the package is not in the same directory as the PKGBUILD.

devtools handles it fine for me when PKGDEST is set to '/var/cache/makepkg/pkg/' ... are you seeing a problem?

Aha, yes, the last time I tried this it didn't work, but that may be because I'm using the PPC devtools (which are older). It was quite some time ago I needed this, I just thought of it now.

This should probably be closed unless you think this feature would be useful for anything else.
