DetailsInstalling vnstat creates a cron entry in /etc/cron.d/vnstat
This is needed for vnstat to poll proc every 5 minutes to keep track of transfer going on across interfaces. For some reason it doesn't function properly. It wouldn't update for me. The cron logs looked clean. It was indeed trying to run the cron entry. It reported no errors other than mailer errors. I was able to fix this by putting the contents of /etc/cron.d/vnstat in the main cron entry (# crontab -e). Then it worked just fine. I would attempt to edit the PKGBUILD to do this, but I don't know if editing the main crontab is deemed appropriate packaging behavior, and I cannot figure out why the cron.d entry isn't working. |
