Description:

In GNOME, when changing volume level using the laptop multimedia buttons, the slider jumps arbitrarily causing volume levels also to jump and change arbitrarily. Works fine when adjusted using alsamixer.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Login to GNOME session.
2. Press 'mute' button on the media keys
3. Now press 'raise volume' button gradually.
Notice the volume level slider jumping up and down.
