DetailsDescription: tThe arts package from kde3 is required for many KDE apps to compile. There is almost always a --without-arts option, however, and if used everything works fine. As there is a kdelibs3 package, if it were possible for there to be a kde-arts3 package I think it would make the transition a bit smoother.
I apologize if this is not something that the devs are willing to cover, as it applies to packages outside the main repos, however to have an entire distribution somewhat abandon kde3 apps seems like a bad idea, as kde4 apps have by no means reached parity. Additional info: * package version(s) * config and/or log files etc. Steps to reproduce: Attempt to compile almost any KDE package which has not been tweaked already. |
