Might it be a better idea to link to a wiki page? At any rate, here are ones off the top of my head:

#archlinux-games - For the arch-games repo and gaming on arch in general
#uarch - µArch, an arch-based distro for small, old, or embedded systems.
#archlinux-aur - AUR discussion.

Dusty, you think it's valuable to actually make this a DB table?
Comment by Aaron Griffin (phrakture) - Tuesday, 29 July 2008, 17:32 GMT
Additionally, not all of these are official channels. The first two, I know for a fact, are not.

The only gain from this would be "someone" would be able to maintain the list in the django admin. I reckon this is a good gain. Flat pages render faster, but since we cache it to the balls it shouldn't hurt anything to put it in the db.

Slightly OT for here, but what is the procedure for getting them as "official" channels.

Another unofficial one: #archlinux-ppc
I think it would still be worth listing unofficial channels on that page, perhaps under a mini-section.

I dont see the point in this. Unofficial channels can be created every day. Most of them probably wont last long. Updating that page every now and then seems a bit of an overkill.

Indeed, the unofficial channels should be listed in the wiki somewhere so the community can keep it up to date. If someone creates this page we can link to it from the official page.
