Are the plugins working?
You could try to remove the file pluginreg.dat in ~/.mozilla/firefox/<profile_folder> (backup first if you want).
When firefox restarts the plugins database is rebuilt. This should solve the problem, assuming everything else is ok.

Works fine here. Where's your MOZ_PLUGIN_PATH set to, and do you have permissions to read and execute the folder containing the plugins?

Adoroo - your fix works, now everything is as it should be, thanks a lot :)
JGC - $MOZ_PLUGIN_PATH
bash: /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins:/opt/mozilla/lib/plugins: No such file or directory

I'm not sure about the permissions they are -rwxr-xr-x root:root (I think that is ok)

Well.
Anyway I hadn't the problem while upgrading to 3.0.1-1 neither in the previous upgrades, if I remember well.
MOZ_PLUGIN_PATH and permissions are ok.

Here it is my upgrade path (i686 architecture, LOCALE="it_IT.utf8"):

[2008-05-13 19:36] installed firefox (2.0.0.14-1)
[""""""""""""""""] installed firefox-i18n (2.0.0.14-1)
[2008-05-27 17:03] installed xulrunner (1.8.1.13-1)
[2008-06-09 20:28] upgraded xulrunner (1.8.1.13-1 -> 1.8.1.14-2)
[2008-06-22 19:07] removed firefox-i18n (2.0.0.14-1) * the updated package wasn't ready soon
[""""""""""""""""] upgraded xulrunner (1.8.1.14-2 -> 1.9-1)
[""""""""""""""""] upgraded firefox (2.0.0.14-1 -> 3.0-1)
[2008-06-23 19:45] installed firefox-i18n (3.0-1)
[2008-06-30 13:30] upgraded firefox (3.0-1 -> 3.0-2)
[2008-07-19 04:31] upgraded xulrunner (1.9-1 -> 1.9.0.1-1)
[""""""""""""""""] upgraded firefox (3.0-2 -> 3.0.1-1)
[""""""""""""""""] upgraded firefox-i18n (3.0-1 -> 3.0.1-1)

So after removing the invalid pluginreg.dat file from your profile this works?

I won't add procedures to packages that touch files in your home directory, so if removing the pluginreg.dat file fixes your problem, I'll close this as not a bug or wontfix.

JGC - Yes, when I removed the pluginreg.dat file from ~/.mozzila/firefox/<profile> folder the plugins appeared in the about:plugins list and everything works, you can close this bug :)
