Reason for closing:  Not a bug
Additional comments about closing:  It was not a bug, just a strange behavior that went away. Sometimes the problem resides in front of the monitor or more precisely in front of the keyboard. Just jocking, have fun.

Update: this happens with the wine binary as well... Wine is currently non-functional.

I deleted ~/.wine ran winecfg after that and all runs fine, I can't seem to reproduce this error in any way. Can someone else confirm this?

Yeah, it looks like I was wrong... Wine is just taking forever to start, and crashes only when you try to terminate it (or rather, about a minute after you try to terminate it).

The main issue seems to be that something is suddenly making Wine take about a minute to start up...

And now... it doesn't do that anymore either. Bizarre.
