I dont know why you consider this different to  FS#10857  ..

They're unlocked without problems here on both i686 and x86_64.

But what is eating gnome-keyring???? How can I get friends with it - what procedures do I have to undertake in order to have it shut up asking for passwords all the time? I hate it.

That bug is fixed upstream and included in the last version of evolution-data-server.

I just was told on the chat that keyring will bug me every time I log into a gnome-session, but that there is a anti-keyring app in AUR called pam-keyring-tool. will see if i can understand it and get rid of the keyring crap
Comment by Jan de Groot (JGC) - Tuesday, 08 July 2008, 12:09 GMT
There's a pam module included in gnome-keyring for this, there's no need to use that 3rd party package.

would you kindly inform me how to find it and set it up, then you can close this bug.

http://live.gnome.org/GnomeKeyring/Pam

That should do it. Replace /etc/pam.d/gdm with whatever service you're using to login.
The next updates of gdm and gnome-screensaver will have these lines enabled btw.

i use startx - can I just do rm /etc/pam.d/gdm?
Comment by Jan de Groot (JGC) - Tuesday, 08 July 2008, 12:47 GMT
For startx you should put it in /etc/pam.d/login. /etc/pam.d/gdm is part of the gdm package.
