Again i dont think the replaces line is of any use today. One would have to use a 1,5 year old current CD to deal with that.
That said, the usage of replaces is technically correct here - the package was introduced to replace cdrtools. To remove it simply to make things easier on you, because you "don't want to add it to your pacman.conf" is silly. I'll consider it if there's huge demand, but for now, this isn't a bug.
