DetailsAdding Search engines to the Mozilla-Firefox toolbar doesn't work if you are logged in as a normal user.
The directory /opt/mozilla-firefox/lib/firefox-0.9.1/searchplugins/ is not set writable in the installation, so the java script cannot write to the directory. |

In discussing this with other devs, this seems illogical because of the security concerns of a world-writable "plugin" directory. We are researching other ways to implement a workaround.

This is an upstream feature that needs to be implemented. Globaly writable-shared directories are a security risk. Please comment on Mozilla's Bugzilla via the link I provided.
