Description:

after upgrade to nvidia 173.14.05-4 driver, when I launch Xorg
the screen is shifted to the right of about 1 cm.
That not happens with the previous driver release.
It may be an upstream bug but I can't find nothing about this kind of problem.

Additional info:
this happens on a GeForce FX 5500

This is actually a feature not a bug. Check your refreshrates, earlier nvidia releases _always_ assumed the wrong refreshrates. It should now be correct. If you have an LCD type screen it should be 60 Hz.

I'm glad nvidia fix the issue breaking my system... lol
Setting my screen to 75 Hz solved my problem

Option "metamodes" "1280x1024_75 +0+0; 1280x1024 +0+0"

in the screen section worked fine again.
