I forgot to mention that the bug is connected with the problem that eg. delete, home, pgup, pgdn etc. keys produce '~' and the workaround, per zsh FAQ (http://zshwiki.org/home/zle/bindkeys) is using of 'zkbd' which is broken in zsh-4.3.5 (see the gmane thread in previous msg.)
