Description:
After kernel 2.6.25 upgrade, dim screen while idle acpi feature doesnt work properly with NVIDIA card.
I have set my screen to dim after 5 minutes of no activity and after 10 minutes screen blanks and eventually turns off.
While the dimming and turning off process happens flawlessly, when I move my mouse the screen does awake but doesn't restore brightness..

I have brightness set to 100%, after 5 minutes of inactivity it goes to 50%. When i move my mouse it doesnt go back to 100% like it should.

This worked with 2.6.24 kernel.

Additional info:
* package version(s)
nvidia 169.12-4
kernel26 2.6.25.4-1
acpid 1.0.6-1

Steps to reproduce:
Set To dim screen after X seconds in gconf-editor using Gnome DE.

PS: I had the same problem with another machine running Fedora 2.6.25 kernel and same nvidia driver. But it is now resolved with the latest updates.

Try to give additional info and search google to find a possible solution to your problem. Such problems usually dont get solved by the Archlinux developers

I think this is Just-One-Of-Those-Things(TM) that happens with closed video drivers. Using the closed ATI driver used to do the same to me on each upgrade. I have a feeling we just need to wait for a new nvidia version.

I need to reinstall Arch on my nvidia-based laptop, otherwise I can't verify.
