The libdownload PKGBUILD retrieved via ABS has invalid URLs.

Code can be retrieved via git at http://code.phraktured.net/git/libdownload.git
This retrieval method would require a modification of the PKGBUILD.

For the record, libdownload is not an arch project - it is my personal project, so this bug tracker isn't really all that appropriate.

Still, let me fix this right now

Arch Linux should still ensure that the PKGBUILD can retrieve the sources
reliably especially since pacman depends on it. If the core PKGBUILDs are
erroneous and someone wanted to build pacman and it's dependencies from
scratch (say for another CPU) then we would encounter problems.

So yeah, this bug ticket is really appropriate.

Thanks for the quick response now. ;D

When will the changes appear in ABS?
I just realised that your diff removes an archlinux.org URL that
actually does work but doesn't appear in the copy retrieved by abs.

Yeah, it's in trunk/ which is our staging ground. I guess I will rebuild the package so you guys can get a new URL.

Rebuilding is not necessary if you just changed the source url. You can just use archrelease to get the change applied to the repos/core-*. So users will then have the fixed PKGBUILD through abs.

BTW, there seems to be old libdownload packages in testing. They are at the same version than the ones in core.

When can people expect to see the newfangled PKGBUILD in ABS?
Comment by Aaron Griffin (phrakture) - Tuesday, 03 June 2008, 15:53 GMT
Right now.
