Reason for closing:  Fixed
Additional comments about closing:  Removed from gnome group in svn trunk. As gnome-volume-manager doesn't cause any harm in the latest version, I'll keep it at 2.22.5-1 for now, no reason to rebuild 2.22.5-2 now.

Hello,

This issue is already discussed in http://bugs.archlinux.org/task/10328
In fact gnome-volume-manager may still be needed by some application which have not migrated to gio/gvfs.
It is not yet deprectaded and this is why it is still included in gnome-2.22.

The issue you are talking about will be fixed by a new version of gnome-volume-manager which will be released in a moment as discussed in  bug 10328 .

I am requesting a closure as as duplicate of  bug 10328 .

gnome-volume-manager is no longer needed for basic gnome functionality, as all the basic tasks of this program have been taken over by nautilus. It will get removed from the gnome group. Maybe I'll add it to the gnome-extra group, as it does have functionality for music devices, scanners and printers (don't know if that works on arch though).

Ok I understand your point Jan.
However I think the following :

- This bug is a feature request if the user only wants to remove gnome-volume-manager from gnome group.
- This bug is a duplicate of  bug 10328  if the user wants the mounting issues related to gnome-volume-manager/Nautilus fixed in gnome 2.22.

I just want to help with not having several bugs for the same problem.
I hope I am not too ennoying ...

I open this bug, JGC knows exactly what I suggest. Adding gnome-volume-manager to the gnome-extra group instead of the current gnome group, so maybe less users could be cought by the  bug 10328 .
