Hi,
after a system update (stable) to the given driver and xorg-server version 1.4.0.90-12 X doesn't recognize my laptop's display anymore. I cannot say if it just with the internal one, or also the external one. Problem is, it says: no display found. After I install xf86-video-vesa I got gdm starting again, though that driver doesn't help me much, as it is very limited... |

But I think that's no big help yet.
In case of the 1st issue: change i810 to intel in your xorg.conf. In case of the 2nd: go to /usr/lib/xorg/modules/drivers and symlink intel_drv.so to i810_drv.so until we have a fix that makes Xorg load the intel driver instead of the i810 driver when running without configuration.
Yes, I don't. Why should I? Everything is working perfect without one :)
Only my synaptics touchpad would require one I guess (to get the size right).
