Details

there is openbabel package in extra. it contains script to install python bindings, and these sen be installed themselves, without installing openbabel itself (see http://openbabel.org/wiki/Install_(source_code)#Install_the_Python_bindings_globally )

so adding python-openbabel package might be considered. for now, I have uploaded python-openbabel PKGBUILD to AUR (see http://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?ID=16942 )
