Description: The logging and action daemon for lm_sensors, sensord, is not included in the lm_sensors package nor is it available in an auxiliary package.

Additional info: The sensord daemon is actually included in the lm_senors source, but a variable needs to be activated to allow it to be compiled. In the makefile, there is a commented out line, which needs to be uncommented:

# PROG_EXTRA := sensord

what features does the "sensord" file provide we don't have in /usr/bin/sensors ?

It is a logging daemon. It logs the sensor readings to a round robin database.

This actually could be closed - I no longer need sensord, I compiled it myself but have found that it does not fit my needs. If someone else wanted this, that might be a different story but I haven't seen anything like that in the bug system.
