also, after installing pygtk nmapfe still doesn't work, crashing with a segmentation fault.

Se  FS#9438 . It isn't even called nmapfe anymore.

Sill segmentation fault after installing python-pysqlite and pygtk

Well you probably aren't running it from X, and its a bad error message in this case. Make sure your $DISPLAY variable is being set would be my guess- if I run it from a non-X terminal I also get a segfault. We can't do anything about it here, this is what upstream gives us. Feel free to report it there.
