xf86-video-via driver freezes the whole system after KDM logon. Additional info: Xorg.0.log: http://pastebin.ca/976771 Xorg.0.log.old: http://pastebin.ca/976772 dmesg: http://pastebin.ca/976773 Steps to reproduce: The via driver does not work with the KM400 video adapter and 2.6.24.4 stock kernel. It loads KDM just fine, then just after I enter the username and password to log in, the whole system freezes completely, and I cannot access any tty's. I have attached the Xorg logs and dmesg above. |

Try xf86-video-unichrome or openchrome. There's 3 drivers that should support your hardware. All of them are in bad shape on different types of hardware, so it's a matter of testing to get good results on your hardware.

Can we get feedback from the original reporter if his problem is fixed with new releases or other drivers?
