Details

upgraded to kernel 2.6.7
reinstalled lilo and rebooted.
Tried to install nvidia 5336, they seem to install.
X does will not initialize
Driver "nvidia"

5336 and 2.6.6 worked fine together

for me it works
you have to rerun the installer
if you are using staging repo
try
pacman -S nvidia
and all should work fine

also check with lsmod if the "nvidia" module is loaded before you start X.

Works for me as well.. I rebooted after kernel update and re-ran the installer. X then started just fine.

I'm closing this off as 'not a bug'. Most likely the user forgot to re-run the installer. If that is NOT the case, then the original submitter should contact me with more details and I'll reopen the bug.
