DetailsHi,
after a pacman -Syu there are 23 packages to update. among other things: dbus, atk, glib2, ... and others. at updateing atk all at once closed my terminal and thunar (no way to open once more) and updateing has been stopped. in my .xsession.errors I found this: /etc/gdm/Xsession: Beginning session setup... Warning: Only changing the first 17 of 32 buttons. /etc/gdm/Xsession: Setup done, will execute: /usr/bin/ssh-agent -- startxfce4 /usr/bin/startxfce4: X server already running on display :0 xrdb: "Xft.hinting" on line 10 overrides entry on line 6 xrdb: "Xft.hintstyle" on line 11 overrides entry on line 7 Warning: Only changing the first 17 of 32 buttons. which: no dbus-launch in (/bin:/usr/bin:/sbin:/usr/sbin:/opt/mozilla/bin:/usr/bin/perlbin/site:/usr/bin/perlbin/vendor:/usr/bin/perlbin/core) /usr/bin/xfce4-session: error while loading shared libraries: libdbus-1.so.3: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory in my pacman.log I found this: [2008-04-06 11:43] upgraded glib2 (2.14.5-1 -> 2.16.2-1) [2008-04-06 11:43] upgraded atk (1.20.0-1 -> 1.22.0-1) after downgrade atk and glib2 I reboot my box. there was an error "no dbus found in rc.d" or like this, so I installed dbus via pacman and reboot once more an my system run as well as before. pacman.log shows this: [2008-04-06 11:43] upgraded glib2 (2.14.5-1 -> 2.16.2-1) [2008-04-06 11:43] upgraded atk (1.20.0-1 -> 1.22.0-1) [2008-04-06 12:00] upgraded atk (1.22.0-1 -> 1.20.0-1) [2008-04-06 12:01] upgraded glib2 (2.16.2-1 -> 2.14.5-1) [2008-04-06 12:03] installed dbus (1.1.20-2) I hope you can read my realy bad English. Reason for closing: Not a bug
Additional comments about closing: I think it should be known by now that you shouldn't upgrade dbus in an environment that has critical dependencies on dbus:

(yes, and it's weird that Terminal has this problem again, I fixed it with the news posting when we upgraded from 0.x to 1.0)
