if you want to rsync from archlinux.org you need to send your server's IP address to Dale (or Eliott?).
In addition, it would be nice if you provide them with your email etc. so we would be able to contact you directly in case we need to.

Roman,

Actually, we'd now like new mirror information all documented on a bug ticket. Then whichever one of us can get to it first will get it done and there is no data lost via private email.

I've added the HTTP mirror to the pacman mirrorlist.

Rsyncing now from rsync.archlinux.org::ftp
Currently syncs start at 0300 and 1500 EDT (cron) everyday..
Are there optimal times to sync? And/or should I sync more/less often? (I would think more given that rsync is .. rsync)
Comment by Dale Blount (dale) - Tuesday, 08 April 2008, 14:29 GMT
Those times should be fine, although I'd pick a random minute if possible since everyone seems to sync on the hour.
Comment by Lee Burton (lburton) - Tuesday, 08 April 2008, 14:41 GMT
Very good point, done.

Figured I'd just reopen the original "bug"...
This mirror will be moving IPs to 129.21.2.111 in the next week or so. We are consolidating three on campus mirrors onto one beefier, better host. The move over should be fairly seemless, just need to get the new IP allowed for rsync.
Comment by Dale Blount (dale) - Wednesday, 08 October 2008, 20:48 GMT
New IP allowed also.

Need to change authorized rsync addresses to:
129.21.171.72
2620:8d:8000:15:225:90ff:fefd:344c

Comment by Florian Pritz (bluewind) - Sunday, 10 April 2022, 13:07 GMT
I've added the new IPs to the whitelist, but it may take up to an hour for the change to hit the rsync master. Can I remove the old IPs, or should they stay?

I'd remove:
129.21.171.98
2620:8d:8000:15:260:ddff:fe44:7a74
2620:8d:8000:15:260:ddff:fe44:7a79
Comment by rit mirorrs admins (rc-mirrors) - Monday, 11 April 2022, 13:08 GMT
Those can be removed.
Lets also add the soon-to-be static IPv6 address 2620:8d:8000:15:1ead:ed:c0:ffee while we have this ticket open
Comment by Florian Pritz (bluewind) - Sunday, 17 April 2022, 20:18 GMT
Thank you. I've updated the list and it now includes only these three:
129.21.171.72
2620:8d:8000:15:225:90ff:fefd:344c
2620:8d:8000:15:1ead:ed:c0:ffee

The change should be live within 1 hour.
