Description:
Due to a bug in vmware's emulation, it failed to load hard drives properly resulting in kernel panics.

You can fix it if you use the latest vmware *workstation*, but I dont use workstation, I use vmware server console which doesn't have that fix yet.

note: this is also fixed in kernel 2.6.22, but I'm not sure how close that release is.
