Summary and Info:

in kernel modules, there's HFS+ but not mac partition format. this seems rather inconsistent, as HFS+ is rarely seen without a mac partition table...

I encountered this when plugging my mac-formatted iPod... which was not readable, although HFS+ module was loaded. it used to be fat32, but we have only mac and linux at home, so when it crashed, I recovered it with the mac's itunes, resulting in a mac part table and hfs+ formatted partition.

Steps to Reproduce:

$ zcat /proc/config.gz |grep MAC_PART
# CONFIG_MAC_PARTITION is not set
$ zcat /proc/config.gz |grep HFS |grep _FS
CONFIG_HFS_FS=m
CONFIG_HFSPLUS_FS=m
