It seems that the kdepim has not been built correctly. Kitchensync has been rewritten for 3.5.7 release and now is basiacally just an opensync backend for kde. However, according to the PKGBUILD that was used to build the 3.5.7 kdepim package makedepends=() and depends=()arrays don't include opensync libs and binaries. This I guess is the reason why the binary output is missing the kitchensync tool.

The most part of the sync stuff stays in the repository community (see the output of pacman -Ss sync) and perhaps this is the reason why a package from extra can't depends on it.

And as opensync becomes more and more important nowadays I guess it could be included in extra or current.
