Packages that require gnome-autogen.sh from the gnome-common package to build, do not work properly with automake 1.10. Downgrading to 1.9.6 resolves the issue. More information here: http://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?pid=231002

According to here, http://ftp.gnome.org/pub/GNOME/sources/gnome-common/2.12/
the last gnome-common update was in 2005, that's way before automake-1.10 was out.
