Reason for closing:  Fixed
Additional comments about closing:  Looks like this should have been fixed ages ago. Did quite some rebuilds, so I expect them to be done. File a new one or reopen with extra details when you find more.

In fact, all packages depending on faad need a rebuild. The nero guys changed public exported symbols from faac* to NeAAC* without bumping .so version.

Run ldd -r [affected library/program] to see if it misses function symbols.

JGC, sorry, I saw this bugreport and your comment after assigning #6257 to you.
In the future - what should be done with this type of bugs?

JGC, I closed 3 faad-related bug-reports, let use this BR as a collector.

I compile mplayer & mplayer-svn. Mplayer not work with new faad2 package. Also not work with last svn build. All *.mov files have same error and not have sound(FAAD: Failed to decode frame Bitstream: value not allowed by specification). If i compile with "--enable-faad-internal" all things work fine.

mpd needs updating to work with the new faad version.

I can confirm that --enable-faad-internal works for mplayer-svn.

I've updated mplayer-svn to rev 22338, and all looks good. It's in unstable now - post any comments here.
