I'm triyng the VLC release from testing and it comes with skins2 as default interface. The buttons Open File, Show File Informations, Edit Preferences and Fullscreen doesn't works,

In the output I get

I have vlc 0.8.5-2 and wxgtk 2.6.3-1

make sure you do a pacman -Suy, cause i do not have these trouble at all.

I did it and the error still happens. I did it with stable repos and later I added testing repos.

PD: I have seen that two years ago somebody reported a similar failure #1866.

I was having the same problem. The solution for me was to compile vlc with --enable wxwidgets instead of --disable wxwindows.

vlc E: Dependency detected and not included (libcdio) from files ['usr/lib/vlc/gui/libwxwidgets_plugin.so']

seems to be the reason, will rebuild..

Yes, It works. I can also play video (before it couldn't find the codecs)
