According to the latest cvs entries the package is quoted as "upgpkg: ivtv 0.4.1-1 upgraded to 0.4.1 and for 2.6.15 kernel" which is incorrect.

when used with kernel 2.6.15 the package dosn't work because the firmware is now loaded from /lib/firmware instead of /lib/modules. Ivtv also now requires hotplug which has been deprecated since the latest udev release and the firmware names have been changed too, they should be as follows.

ivtv-fw-enc.bin -> v4l-cx2341x-enc.fw
ivtv-fw-dec.bin -> v4l-cx2341x-dec.fw
HcwMakoA.ROM -> v4l-cx25840.fw
ivtv_init_mpeg.bin -> v4l-cx2341x-init-mpeg.bin

that's what i get for rolling a quick release away from home; sorry!

i'll try to fix/test this now, otherwise tonight when I'm back at my mythtv box

thanks for the input!

I compiled a new version, but it doesn't work on my setup! (pvr150)

I've put it in testing anyway to see if it works for anyone else. It seems like it's loading the firmware properly from the new locations, and that most things look good, just that mythtv hangs when I try to view live TV.

Also, not listed above (or referred to by the other ivtv material) is any reference to the other pvr150 firmware I was including. Is it no longer needed? It seems odd that there's no mention at all.

If you could try the testing release and see if it works for you, that would be good!

Thanks,
Paul

Oh and also, ivtv doesn't require hotplug. It seems to find and load the firmware using just udev. Can anyone else confirm this to be true? It seems to work right for me (where before the firmware_helper called by udev gave me an error saying it couldn't find the file).

That's how my similar, non-ivtv pvr setup worked. Upon switching to the new udev and removing hotplug firmware loading remained working.

Hmm... .4.1 doesn't seem to have any audio for me with a PVR-150 MCE.

Can you try the new 0.4.2? They fixed a lot of bugs between 0.4.1 and 0.4.2, and things seem to be working for me now. Though I was running out quickly and didn't check on the audio. I also have the PVR-150 MCE.

If things are working for you and bert, I'd like to close this bug now. Let me know!

Works for me (Hauppauge PVR350).
Thanks
