Details
Description:
The following patch introduces coretemp driver support for Core i3/i5 PentiumG6950 Clarkdale CPUs (TJMax = 105). Patch: https://bugzilla.kernel.org/attachment.cgi?id=25111 The progress is tracked here: https://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=15348 The patch works, but it's unlikely to be merged into mainline. Apparently they are looking for a better way for supporting newer CPUs than adding model number checks every time a new CPU is released. Still, it's unclear when they will do so and the patch simply adds another model number check, which is consistent with the drivers current coding scheme. Can we use this patch in kernel26? |
