Gentoo have start some testing on enabling raster engine by default in Qt.

What about having a qt-testing repository for testing raster engine on ArchLinux and maybe if it works good make it default qt engine ?

I've enabled it for plasma-desktop and all artefacts go away.
Same for konqueror, it's much more faster with this enabled.

Tested on Nvidia and Intel hardware.

It just a workaround for broken drivers and causes problems. It's not the default for a reason. But you can easily enable it on the command line.

gentoo ppl mentioned problems switching to the raster engine and they are not including it in their defaults, it's probably just for testing purposes.
Any comments, otherwise will close tomorrow.

Benjamin Poulain from Nokia request rekonq devs to enable raster by default for Qt 4.7.

I've rebuild beta2 with raster, and performance are really good, oxygen style is really more faster to draw gradients...

Will continue to use it and will see if it have issues...
