Description:
On startup this is the errormessage: error binding control socket, seems udevd is already running

Additional info:
* klic-udev 1.41-3, kernel 2.6.32.4-1
* config and/or log files etc.

As described in this forum thread: http://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?pid=689697
This is the essence: ...since mkinitcpio 0.5.27, udevd is started earlier in the boot process, before any modules are loaded, so that any required firmware is handled correctly. However, the udev hook provided by the klibc-udev package has not been updated to accommodate this, so it also tries to start udevd, resulting in that message...

Steps to reproduce:
pacman -Syu
restart

What you are saying is impossible. Please attach your kernel26.img.

Here you go!
It remains on both my x86_64 laptop and on my i686 netbook.

Okay, I looked at the image and it is still impossible for that message to appear after booting with that image. udev is definitely started only once.

I have updated to the latest kernel a few hours ago. The image is from the lates kernel, but my last boot was still with the previuos.
I will reboot again a report back.

You are correct!
After this update the message is gone. If I had waited a few more hours this would have been unnecessary.
Sorry about the time I have wasted you.
