Description:
When I shutdown my Arch Linux 64-bit system at the end of the process, just before everything halts, I get a bunch of code on my screen which starts with the last unloaded modules, some cryptic code end then:
/etc/rc.shutdown: line 146 segmentation fault

All the lights are off but the cooling doesn't stop (as for as I can tell)

When I downgrade to kernel 2.6.31.6-1 it doesn't happen anymore and it has never happened before.

Additional info:
* package version(s)
core/kernel26 2.6.32.3-1
* config and/or log files etc.

Steps to reproduce:
Shutdown system (Atom 330 (D945GCLF2)).

and also consider using 2.6.33

Perhaps I should add that it did not happen every single time, I'd say, in 90% of the shutdowns. Not one single occasion using 2.6.31 so far. 2.6.32 also gives me weirdness (of a different kind) on my eee 1000he (also atom based).

I have the same problem with the segmentation fault on every shutdown, so that I have to hold the power button to poweroff! I am also using Arch64, but an Intel Core i7 920 CPU.

Please test with the next kernel 2.6.32.4 when become available on repos. If the problems persist please report to upstream. Thanks.

From djgera post I understand a patch is coming. Thanx for the support people.

Seems that 2.6.32.6 (comming in few hours) will not contain the fix. Apparently due current fixes are more a workaround rather than a real fix. See http://patchwork.kernel.org/patch/74981/

I have now shutdown twice succesfully without any segmentation faults using the new kernel26-2.6.32.7-1
Howabout you guys?
