Details

Description:
Running VirtualBox with this kernel version makes the host and guest freeze.

Additional info:
Virtualbox 3.1.2-2 from the AUR
Kernel 2.6.32


Steps to reproduce:
Run a Windows guest in VirtualBox.
The system will reliably freeze after a few minutes.

Same for Linux guest, but my system (2.6.32-ARCH #1 SMP PREEMPT Thu Jan 7, 64-bit, GeForce 8500 GT) with vanilla kde freezes immediately on clicking on the guest system and the sound goes ga-ga-ga-ga, i.e. just loops. No meaningful log entry in everything.log :(

if you say virtualbox from aur then its not a bug. you should rebuild the modules.

post pacman -Qs virtualbox

Oops! I did that, did an lsmod and hoped that the newly built module would work. It didn't. I just tried it after a reboot and it did work :) Will say so in thread - many thanks for the hint and do you know how to insert the new module into a running system?
