Description:
texlive-2009 contains buggy context version

Additional info:
there is a difference between how context in the texlive package
is processing and how it should.

Steps to reproduce:
1. create following .tex file:
\setupoutput [pdftex]
\enableregime [utf]
\usetypescript [modern][ec]
\setupbodyfont [ss,10pt]
\mainlanguage [en]
\setuppapersize [A4][A4]
\setupcolors [state=start]
\setuppagenumber [state=stop]

\starttext
\setupTABLE[background=color,backgroundcolor=white]

\bTABLE
\bTABLEbody
\bTR[topframe=off]
\bTD[nr=4,width=100pt,frame=off] Languages \eTD
\bTD[width=120pt,frame=off,rightfheight=32pt,align={right,low}] \
{\externalfigure[flcz.png] [width=20pt]} Czech, Slovak \eTD
\bTD[width=240pt,frame=off,height=20pt,align={right,low}] native \eTD
\eTR

\bTR
\bTD[align={right,low},height=20pt,frame=off] \
{\externalfigure[fluk.png] [width=20pt,align={right,low}]}\ English\eTD
\bTD[align={right,low},height=20pt,frame=off] fluently
written/spoken\eTD
\eTR

\eTABLEbody
\eTABLE
\stoptext

2. Compile it with texlive
3. Output looks like attachment tex2.png, should as attachment tex1.png
(reason : it look correctly with gentoo's texlive 2008 and also the usenet context group people confirmed, that with the latest context it is also ok)
   tex1.png (9.4 KiB)
   tex2.png (10.5 KiB)
This task depends upon

(to make it clear - it is fixed upstream, buggy is just the archlinux package)

After today's update of texlive packages it still does not seem to work... the only option is to install the context minimals package from auf, so far...

This is indeed a known problem with TeXLive 2009 (upstream), and documented here:
http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/TeXLive#Important_information
The current package has the most up-to-date ConTeXt files from the TeXLive repo. If you can provide a suggestion for a clean way to fix this, I'd very much appreciate!

This is now fixed in TeX Live 2010. See the pretest packages in testing. Note that there are some issues with luatex/context configuration (buggy mkluatexfontdb and incorrect value of TEXMFCACHE for luatex) which will be solved in the forthcoming version of texlive-bin/texlive-core in testing.
I also intend to add some more detailed instructions on the wiki on how to initialize Context Mark IV and LuaTeX.
