in the past uuid was used in /etc/fstab. now uuid are used only in grub menu.lst but not in /etc/fstab.

yes. the regression is still valid in archlinux-2010.03.04

I think this is lowprio. I don't see any clear advantage over the plain devicefiles we use now.
feel free to come up with better arguments. (and no, uuids are not a "fix" for  FS#16328 , they would be a workaround. the real problem in that ticket is inconsistent devicefile naming)

putting this on lowprio.

okay, Thomas told me UUID's really are a good thing (though ideally, user could pick what he wants), so I think i fixed it now.
