I have a suggestion for the website of Archlinux:
Most packages (i.e. like 99% ?) are published for i686 and x86_64 at the same time (probably by the same maintainer). Yet everything is announced double on the frontpage of Archlinux. Wouldn't it be better to make a single announcement for any package and append for which platforms it was published? So e.g. instead of: packageA i686 packageB i686 packageB x86_64 packageA x86_64 packageC i686 packageC x86_64 alternative: packageA i686/x86_64 packageB i686/x86_64 packageC i686/x86_64 packageD i686 packageE i686/x86_64 packageF i686/x86_64 So in the above example packageD for x86_64 apparently wasn't ready yet (i have yet to see this happening smile). Then a few days later, as soon as it's finished, just reannounce it as packageD i686/x86_64 This prevents everything from being announced twice in the same list. It's less confusing and allows for more packages to be announced using the same space on the frontpage. After all, frontpages are a special place on any website. |
