steps to reproduce:

1. open openoffice calc
2. write greek characters in any cell
3. save with Microsoft Excel 97/2000/XP (.xls) format
4. close openoffice calc
5. open the created .xls and where you typed greek characters the result is ???????????????

  • Field changed: Summary (problem when saving to .xls format with go-openoffice → [go-openoffice] problem when saving to .xls format)
  • Field changed: Status (Unconfirmed → Waiting on Response)
  • Field changed: Category (Packages: Extra → Upstream Bugs)
  • Task assigned to Andreas Radke (AndyRTR)
Confirmed. Looks like an upstream issue rather than a packaging issue. So Please report to upstrem if not already reported. Thanks.
