It would be nice if the kernel from you would support crash dump facility for Kernel hackers, workers, like me. It would save us from the kernel source building.

CONFIG_CRASH_DUMP option in the Kernel.

I think that this is not easy as "just enable this option only". Enabling only this will make a kernel that is not suitable to boot the system. See Documentation/kdump.txt for all requirements. (specially put atention on CONFIG_RELOCATABLE)

I know the procedure, I use it in my work ;)

But I thought of this again, maybe this is not a good idea even RHEL and extended Centos support it on default.

Also needs debug symbols to make information relevant -> big kernel image and big modules -> more big kernel package.

Hm, maybe it doesn't touch so much users, just some kernel hackers, so maybe it's not so popular feature to include.
