when I tried playing files from mplayer on the cli or smplayer it crashed cli showed a 'bus error'. rebuilding mplayer and reinstalling it fixed the problem. please rebuild and update the release.

Next time please post the concrete error message if i may ask you, because it's easier to see the exact problem and the fix for it.

it broke twice in as many weeks. I don't recall it and rebuilding it fixed it. once was almost certainly but to be honest it was no more descriptive than 'a bus error occurred' or something like that. I asked on #mplayer and they said 3 things 1, the build is broken, 2 a bug, 3 a hardware issue. So I rebuilt and it fixed it.

Next time try getting to the bug report faster please it shoudn't take over a week to get a response on a 'rebuild' request.

also I just looked at the message I sent to #mplayer before I had rebooted my system that day. the exact error was "bus error" no other words, nothing else. that's all I got trying to run a movie from an xterminal. rebuilding it fixed the issue.

You seem to be the only one getting this error. Did you try redownloading and installing the package?

I just ran a forced reinstall... not getting the errors.
