Do you try to "uncheck the box", "close", go back again (or restart xfce4) and "check the box", then "close"?

Why? It's an expected behaviour?
Comment by Andreas Radke (AndyRTR) - Monday, 21 September 2009, 16:44 GMT
do you have xflock4 installed? It's part of xfce-utils 4.6.1-1
Comment by Mário (dgr48) - Monday, 21 September 2009, 16:49 GMT
I installed the xfce4 and xfce4-goodies metapackages, so yes it's installed.

mario@darkstar:~$ whereis xflock4
xflock4: /usr/bin/xflock4
mario@darkstar:~$ yaourt -Qo /usr/bin/xflock4
/usr/bin/xflock4 is owned by xfce-utils 4.6.1-1

New fact:

when I use the key combination to suspend (Fn + Suspend Key), it executes the xscreensaver before suspend. But when I choose suspend from the Logout menu it doesn't.

It is a upstream problem?

If it is, it cannot be patched/resolved by archlinux devs? So we can have all a better distro?

Thank you.

Mário.

Find out what is controlling the Fn+Suspend_KEY action.
If I am a betting person I'd say that a different command is being executed when doing Fn+Suspend_KEY than when you do logout->hibernate/suspend.

I can not speak for the devs, but generally speaking it is frowned upon to patch software to add a feature in arch.
